Hello Aljaz,

Thank you for contacting Guild Wars Support about this.

i was wondering if there is any chance of info release on how you can make your pet dire and agressive, me and many other people i know tried it over and over again, and no matter what we do and which unofficial guides we follow, the pets allways end up playfull. Is there any chance of retrieving that info either from ingame npc, gameplay part of website, or maybe here?

(i ussualy try everything else before bothering people on support, but no online guide and nothing helped, and i tried to evolve a ton of pets, and it was allways the same)

Best Regards
Aljaz Kalan

It's very hard. Try to let your pet deal most damage (12 points in BM works best), heal im alot, and don't do too much damage yourself. It'll take long though, but it's possible.

There is a thread also related to this, but I'm not sure what the link is.

It was quite simple, get your pet and start leveling with divinity coast mission. Have the pet kill everything.

It would be a little harder in the begining, but later it would a walk in the park.

When the pet is like lv18 or so, go from fisherman's haven to tear of the fallen (i think?), you should meet a grand drake in front of you, kill it and return to previous map. Enter again, there is the drake again.

Its VERY hard to get an Aggressive, and then Dire Pet.

The Guides give you perfectly what to do, but they are not fool-proof and it doesn't happen 100% of the time.

Your Pet can Solo a Mission over and over by itself never taking any dmg and turn out Playful. Or it can turn out Aggressive and you continue to do the same thing but at lvl15 It turns Elder instead of Dire.

This has led most people to beleive that EACH pet has its owns traits and personality. Some Pets never evolve, some pets you can turn into dmg machines and they simply dont turn Aggresive.

This I think was put in to give some people something to do in PVE. And Since Petowners mostly WANT Elder or Hearty - it isn't such a big deal. Only Pure Beastmasters that devote their build to the pet want Dire (And Pure Beastmasters dont even really Exist because pets' AI is wack, it simply isnt as strong as any other build). Pets are mostly either tanks (hearty) or Ferocious Strike spammers (Anything)

I once wrote some words on training an elder pet here. This method has worked well for some players that succeeded on the first try.

This post discusses getting the level 15 elder wolf.

Dire has been working well for me - except in my elementarist. Use a bow, zero marksmanship, 12 or more beast mastery, and use beast mastery attacks. Do not use Comfort Animal. If you or your pet are close to dying, hit G and press the Guild Hall button to quickly map-travel. Oh, and of course you train at Gates of Kryta ...

Everyone know warturtle (blastoise) was way better =P In fact, water type are way overpowered.

Anyway...
I didn't have any trouble getting my pet to aggressive... although it never evolve any further (lv20 aggressive). I really should do a hp test soon, kind of too lazy to do it thou.

What I did was just wand once and stop, then the piggy do the rest of the work. Troll ungent was my only heal, I used about 3 attack skills. My piggy killed countless boss monsters from divinity coast. I didn't train at divinity coast until it is like lv8 or something, before that I was right outside sanctum cay (not a good training ground of course). My piggy killed mergoyle, bog skale, lightning/grand drakes, ettin, tengu.
